Crowdsourcing Methods to Keep Strays Away

Recently, it has come to my attention that there's been a sudden influx of strays in my room the mansion. With the guaranteed mess and trouble it'll cause, I'm in need of some ways to deter it from coming back. If not, then at the very least, I'd like to know how I could possibly contain its mischief. 

If you have any suggestions, please tell me. So far, my classmates have suggested I spray it with water. I've yet to try this but I will when it comes back.

It's alright. I'm sure it doesn't need a new home. Rather a complete stray, it's more of an intruder that I'd like to send back to wherever it came from, honestly speaking.

I've heard that water is effective, but it can also have an adverse effect - especially when some cats do in fact enjoy water. Have you tried instead putting something familiar outside for it? The cat will be unlikely to go out of his way to come inside when there's something better outside.

Alternatively, I recommend putting away all traces of food off the counters in case that's what's drawing them in.

Or... perhaps the stray is just looking for a lap to cuddle on. There are many different scenarios to be addressed. I'm happy to help out.

I'll take those into consideration. With regards to the water, I've noted that it might have some violent reactions against it. Given such a response, would you say that it's effective against it?

I suppose it might just want some affection but for such an intelligent creature, couldn't it be more considerate of others?

I've stopped feeding it already but it still comes back. It's a rather stubborn cat in particular.
